Ethan Park

Ethan Park has been playing video games competitively since he was fourteen and writing code since he was sixteen. For most of his life those two things felt like separate hobbies. It was not until he started building small tools to optimize his own gaming setup that he realized how naturally they connected and how few good resources existed at that intersection.

He studied Computer Science at the University of Washington, graduating in 2016. His coursework covered everything from low-level systems programming to human-computer interaction design, but the projects he cared most about were always the ones with a practical application he could use himself. His final year capstone project was a performance benchmarking tool for comparing hardware configurations across different gaming workloads, which he built partly out of genuine academic interest and partly because he wanted to know which graphics card to buy. He completed a Full Stack Web Development certificate through freeCodeCamp in 2017 while working his first job, filling in the gaps in his frontend development skills and building several small web-based tools in the process.

After graduating, Ethan spent six years working as a software developer for a mid-size tech company in Seattle, building internal tools, optimizing application performance, and occasionally being the person colleagues came to when they needed something calculated quickly and accurately. Outside of work he remained an active member of the competitive gaming community, regularly contributing to forums on sensitivity settings, hardware optimization, and in-game mechanics calculations. At Bro Calculator, he writes and reviews all tools in the Gaming and Tech categories, bringing both his software development precision and his genuine enthusiasm for gaming to every calculator page he works on.
